What to expect ?

Arequipa is the colonial-era capital of Peru’s Arequipa Region. Framed by 3 volcanoes, it's filled with baroque buildings constructed from sillar, a white volcanic stone. Its historic center is anchored by the Plaza de Armas, a stately main square flanked on its north by the 17th-century neoclassical Basilica Cathedral, which houses a museum displaying religious objects and artwork.

Visit the monastery of Santa Catalina, which is a sample of 4-centuries of architecture in Arequipa. Walk down its narrow alleys leading to the various parts of the convent whilst going through picturesque sites and old living quarters including the original furniture.

Visit the main square, one of the most beautiful in Peru - the Jesuit Church of the Company, which in its beautiful facade displays mestizo architecture, cloisters and a dome.
